The 4th of July was the date that America claimed its independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. Specifically on July 4, 1776, the term democracy was born, at least for the Americans. Hence, many people around the world would like to set foot on greener pastures and witness for themselves what it is to be in the so-called land of the free and at the same time, the home of the brave. Maybe this paved the way to ushering the American Dream.
The United States is truly a dissimilar nation with diverse and a unique cultural heritage of its own. The population is composed of dynamic individuals wherein most come together each year on the 4th of July and celebrate that freedom and independence. To commemorate the historic event, citizens and residents have fun and are merry with a variety of food specifically barbecues, cakes and other desserts. Families hold picnics and special gatherings to ride with the festivity. It is a rare opportunity that such a work laden nation with complex politics and economy come together and breathes out to relax for this holiday. For special occasions such as this one, it is expected that there are many activities in all the states of the U.S. and also a grand fireworks display such as the ones usually witnessed above the Washington monument. The entire family will feast their eyes with the grand spectacle of the lights and sounds heard from across the sky just to serve as a reminder that many people had died for this day and many had continued to live and are forever will be grateful of the meaning behind the American independence.
